Tracks of the month – May: it’s all about the soul
A funny thing happened to me this week. I paid five dollars to enter a raffle a homeless man had set up outside the Detroit Electronic Music festival. Unusually for me, I won: it was a tatty copy of John Coltrane’s “Love Supreme”. I couldn’t think of a more perfect prize.

I’ve just woken up to hear the sad new that DJ Rashad has died, aged 35. Born Rashad Harden, DJ Rashad was instrumental in bringing Chicago’s footwork style of dance music to a global audience.
March – tracks of the month
At last spring is here, West Ham are staying up and I feel jazzy. So here is a list of some of the albums that have been on heavy rotation on my turntable. Its a real mixed bag, I hope you like some of the tracks. All are readily available, so you should be able to pick any up you think you might like.
DJ Sprinkles: Joy and Pain
DJ Sprinkles’ new album, Queerifications and Ruins, is as sublime as it is thought provoking.
